Don't Blow it Off, It's the Best
By Pine Tree
This is probably my favorite volume of Pandora Hearts that has been released in the US (thus far). For me, this is where the series starts picking up and starts getting really, really good.

Well, I'll try not to give anything away, but there are some spoilers, so here goes. So, in this volume, Oz, Gil, Break, and Alice are still stuck in the Cheshire cat's lair, a place made up of Alice lost memories. The mysterious man in Alice memories guides Oz to Alice so he find her and they can leave before she gets sucked into the dimension. But along the way, the man shows Oz see something that he should not have seen but needs to see, in order to stay be Alice's side. Something so horrible and devastating it nearly shatters Oz and plunges him into the destructive powers of the B-Rabbit. Will Oz snap out of it, or will he succumb and put everyone in the dimension in danger?

My favorite chapter in here, however, is the "His Name is..." because this is when we finally start to get some answers to what is happening and who-is-who, and it was a very awesome chapter indeed. Not "the best" chapter of Pandora Hearts (because THOSE happen later on) but one of the best so far.

I love Pandora Hearts for many reasons. One, it's got a very, very intriguing, mysterious, dark, and delightful story. It sucks you right in, after a while. Two, the art is amazing and beautiful. To me, it seems like the art "matures" as the series goes on, but maybe it is just me. Three, the characters. You can not have a good story with great characters, right? Well, I think just about ALL the characters (including the minor ones) are captivating, and I don't think it would be the same without any of them. For me, the characters have depth, lots of it. Not really any of them are shallow. So, I highly, highly recommend this series, because I guarantee that if you stick with the series for a while, it will not disappoint you.

"Alice...you're fine just the way you are...!" No spoilers
By Leaf
From my Goodreads:
We learn about what Alice erased her memories to hide, who Gilbert and Vincent truly are, and that Vincent has some dark secrets. Oz develops a lot. We see that he truly cares about Alice. Something about her strikes him, and makes him want to keep her smiling. Alice herself has lived a hard life, and now that Oz has discovered her darkest memory, that resolve has strengthened.

There is so much going on behind all of this, that I don't even know where to begin. If Mochizuki can pull this off, and weave all these threads together, I will be very happy. I don't know how she will, but so far, she has connected so many things I didn't know were intertwined that I am very impressed. She must have mapped out everything, and the writing is very well done.

The characters aren't cliche. Gil looks like a badass, dark and mysterious, but in fact is cowardly, broken and obsessed with Oz. All of them are not what you would expect. This series is pretty dark. I didn't expect a lot of what I have read so far, and it was handled maturely and all has a purpose. Everything comes back around for a greater purpose. EVERYTHING. And you need to remember it all. Which is why without spoiling things, I am putting in the key points in my reviews, so in case I forget, I can come back to these. ( I hope they help you too)

The Intention of the Abyss plays a role that involves everyone, but who or what exactly is it? What are Vincent Nightray and Xerxes Break up to? Where is Sharron? What is Alice's role in this, and how does Oz fit in, if he is part of some prophecy mentioned in volume 1?And what purpose will the succession of another Tragedy of Sablier serve? Yes, it will give them the Intention of the Abyss, but for what reason? What can it do for them? And what is Jack? Why did he lie about who he was?

Alice clearly has feelings for Jack, and he for her...but what happened between them? And how is Oz connected? And most importantly, is the fact that Jack and Glen Baskerville were best friends, and something happened. Something must have happened to start the Tragedy of Sablier.

Great info on Sablier and what occurred
By Kathryn E. Fox
Story still going strong. They all make it out in a dramatic entrance back to their world and we are supposed to be certain of our villain. I do hope the end reveal wasn't actually supposed to be a shock though :)
