Absolutely Charming and Exquisitely Designed for Learning!

My niece, who is 18 months old and very sharp, adored this book. She loved the textured owl on the cover, the diverse and managable pictures and the animal noises we made from words; she learned a lot from the uncluttered portrayals in the book.
The book was beautiful and most effective in its heartfelt simplicity. While she loves to tear things up, the flaps are few enough and substantial enough to survive a child's curiosity.
We definitely want the whole collection!!!!!!!!!!

A LOVELY AND UNIQUE BOOK FOR THE VERY YOUNG. I Love these little Lift-the-Flap books.

I have to admit that I get a kick out of these creative little books in the Made with Love Series. "Lift-the-flap" concept may not be new but Sandra Magsamen obviously knows and loves what she is creating and it most certainly shows in her work. This work consists of only five illustrations (one illustration per two pages), but the art work and the text say as much as some 20 page children's books I have run across of late.
The book is made from very heavy gage paper board. One illustration covers two pages. There will be a statement and when you lift the flap and the statement is complete. As an example; the second two pages consists of a drawing of a black and white cow (the black spots are in the shape of hearts) and the message reads: "The cow grazing in the meadow calls..." And then you flip the little flap on the side of the cow and read: "I love moo, I love moo!"
These are excellent peek-a-book books for the wee ones and they most certainly will get the giggles with this work as they have with this author's past offerings.
The art work is done in eye catching colors. The pictures are simple and made to look like stitched appliqué pictures. This goes perfectly with the unique cover which consists of a three dimensional stuffed and soft cloth appliqué owl asking the question "Whoo loves you? Kids will love to touch and play with this thing.
This book is most certainly well made and will be able to take quite a beating year after year.
The entire theme of the book is love and all of the pictures are of various animals...cute animals, I must say.
This is an excellent infant book and would make a wonderful present. All in all folks, this is a very classy little book.
