X Hits the Spot

I read the first Daniel X book some time ago and found that while it was pretty well written it wasn't really able to make me want to read the next book in the series. When I saw this book at my library I decided to see what I thought of the story in comic form. It turns out I liked it better than the original.
Patter's style is firmly retained in the dialogue and storytelling style. But the art really sells the superhero action side of things much better than the prose version ever did. A picture, indeed, is worth a thousand words here. Actually having faces to attach to Daniel's friends did a lot to make their role in the story work for me where I was less impressed by it in the original book.
As for the art itself, it's well done but very much straight out the modern manga/manwha handbook. Of course, given that our main character is a teenager this actually is pretty fitting and gives an energetic, youthful air to a lot of the story which really does help bring everything together.
All in all, if you enjoy teen adventure or are simply a Daniel X fan this is a good book worth picking up.

I have never read James Patterson before but, I liked this graphic novel. It was very detailed in drawing and the story line was good and easy to follow. Can't wait till the next one. :]

X Is Amazing!

This manga surprised me. It's simple, but the concept is pretty awesome. Daniel has some awesome powers, and the aliens that he is hunting down are pretty unique too! I actually like the characters in this manga, and too often in manga the characters are cliche, but I really enjoyed this manga! I can't wait to read the next volume.
